Honda came to Canada in 1969 – starting as a small company and eventually becoming what it is today after 50 years. To celebrate this anniversary, Honda Canada asked for a logo to commemorate the milestone that could be used throughout 2019.
Inspired by the typographic treatment of a classic licence plate, this logo draws upon Honda’s presence in Canada and how that began in 1969. With this direction for the overall shape, the logo can be easily applied in the corners of collateral to commemorate their history while advertising the current models. For the Auto Show that year, the logo became the licence plate for every Honda Car.
